SortMyFamily

Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and SortMyFamily (“we”, “us”) for your use of SortMyFamily. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data. By creating an account or using SortMyFamily, you accept these terms.

1. About us and these terms

SortMyFamily is an independent business based in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at admin@sortmyfamily.com.

These terms, our Privacy Policy, and any plan-specific terms we present to you together form the agreement between us. If there is a conflict, the plan-specific terms take priority for the subject they cover.

2. Who can use SortMyFamily

3. What the service is — and isn’t

SortMyFamily reads the messages, documents and notes you send it, turns them into commitments, and reminds the right person at the right time. It can connect to a calendar and send reminders by app notification, email, message or, for the most time-critical items, a phone call.

It is an organisational aid, not a guarantee. In particular:

4. Your account

5. Your household and other people’s data

SortMyFamily works by handling information about your whole household. By adding a person to your household, or by sending content that mentions someone, you confirm that:

Content in a household is shared between its members according to the visibility settings you choose. A request or action by one member can affect what another member sees. You agree to use these features responsibly and not to use SortMyFamily to monitor, control or harass another person.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may remove content or restrict features that breach this section, and may suspend or close accounts for serious or repeated breaches (see section 13).

7. Third-party services

SortMyFamily connects to services run by others — including Google Calendar and the WhatsApp Business Platform. To use those features you need your own accounts with those providers, and your use of them is governed by their terms and privacy policies, not ours. We are not responsible for those services, for changes they make, or for outages on their side. You can disconnect a third-party service from SortMyFamily at any time.

8. AI features and your responsibility

SortMyFamily uses automated language models to interpret your content and to help word reminders. These features are helpful but not perfect: they can misread a date, miss a detail, or phrase something poorly. SortMyFamily proposes; you confirm. You are responsible for reviewing what it produces and for acting on your household’s commitments. We do not use your content to train AI models — see the Privacy Policy.

9. Preview / early-access status

While SortMyFamily is in preview or early access:

Nothing in this section limits your rights under sections 12 or 15 that cannot be limited by law.

10. Fees

SortMyFamily is currently provided free of charge. If we introduce paid plans, we will set out the price, billing terms and any free trial clearly before you are asked to pay, and we will not start charging you without your agreement. If you are a consumer, your statutory cancellation rights will apply to any paid plan.

11. Intellectual property

We (or our licensors) own SortMyFamily, its software, design, branding and content. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service for your household while these terms are in force. You keep ownership of the content you send us; you grant us the licence we need to store and process it to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. You may give us feedback, and we may use it without obligation to you.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales.

Subject to that:

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to services that are not carried out with reasonable care and skill; these terms do not affect those rights.

13. Suspension and termination

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 11, 12 and 15) continue to apply.

14. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms as the service develops or the law changes. If a change materially reduces your rights or increases your obligations, we will give you reasonable notice by email or in the app before it takes effect, and you may close your account if you do not accept it. Other changes take effect when we post the updated terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer resident in another part of the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.

Please contact us first if you have a problem — most things can be sorted out quickly at admin@sortmyfamily.com.
